I studied statistics, and it left me with one habit: watch what people actually do, especially what they quietly choose not to. Everything I build starts there. At 5D VDC that meant finding the hours construction teams lost to paperwork and handing them to agents; at hoichoi it means the same across twenty departments, one slow workflow at a time. On the side I make small products for about five friends, on the theory that nobody else will need them, and I keep being wrong. The rule doesn't change: let the agent do the grunt work, keep people for the judgement, and make the result feel like it was always this simple.
“I get agents to do the grunt work so I can take credit.”

Residents
Shiro keeps the front desk; every file has a keeper of its own. They all watch your cursor and like being poked. Poke one four times quickly and see what happens.
Shiro
Host of the crossing, narrator
Host of the crossing. A small white dog from Kasukabe who took a job in Kolkata after one forgotten dinner too many. Poke him four times quickly and he gets dizzy.
chintu
Runs the reminders, the chats and the refills. Sleeps twenty hours a day and still never forgets a dose.
Jaggu
The monkey inside tanhAI. Speaks 11+ languages, most of them about bananas. Boop him and see.
Hoot
Up all night listening. Repeats everything back, correctly pronounced, code included.
Xerox
Keeps Deterministic Inference for LLMs →
Looks exactly like every other penguin. Prefers it that way.
Dheere
Started this survey in 2019. Still on question four, and very much not abandoning it.
Colophon
Where the crossing comes from
The home page's 3D street-signal hero is inspired by hirotos.com: one object, up close, with the camera orbiting it as you scroll. Ours is a Kolkata signal, modelled from scratch in Blender.
Black and white, on purpose
Colour lives at the crossing, in the signal on the home page. Everything after it is paper and ink, so the work is the only thing asking for attention.
Type over images
There are no photographs past the hero. Every figure is drawn in characters, live: small 3D scenes set in type, turning as you read, and diagrams that decode from noise as you reach them.
Thirty seconds, then the long read
Every file opens with a TL;DR for people in a hurry. The full case study sits underneath for people who read.
A grid and three voices
Twelve columns and a lot of air. Geist for names, Geist Mono for labels and figures, Newsreader for anything meant to be read.
Credits
Shiro is a fan tribute to Crayon Shin-chan by Yoshito Usui; nothing from the series is reproduced, and his sprite is page-mascot’s dog, lightened. The other residents are from page-mascot by Kamran Ahmed (MIT), shown in greyscale. Built with Next.js, Hono, Three.js and a signal modelled in Blender, in Kolkata.
