Put the reminder where families already are, WhatsApp, and make answering it take one tap.
Built
Setup from a prescription photo or voice note, one-button dose reminders, follow-ups that escalate to a caretaker, and refills ordered from a local chemist.

A 2-minute read

Capsule, one tablet after dinner

Most missed doses aren't a decision; they're an evening that ran long, a trip, a strip that ran out. So mydawAI is built for people who are busy, not people who need convincing: reminders arrive on the WhatsApp the family already uses, each person in their own language from 11+, answered with one tap, and chintu the koala follows up and tells the caretaker only when a dose goes unanswered. It is deliberately not a doctor, and it says so.

How it works

  1. Send a photo of the prescription or a voice note. mydawAI reads it and asks about anything unclear.

  2. Nothing is saved until you confirm the schedule.

  3. At dose time a WhatsApp message arrives with one button: Taken. There is no snooze and no skip.

  4. No reply? chintu asks again. If the dose is still unanswered, the caretaker gets a heads-up.

  5. Every Taken lowers the stock count. When it runs low, chintu asks before sending the order to a local chemist on WhatsApp.

What I built

  1. One-button reminders

Each dose is a WhatsApp message with a single Taken button. Answering costs one tap, so the reminder never turns into a chore.

  2. Setup by photo or voice

A prescription photo or a voice note becomes a structured schedule. Unclear lines trigger a question instead of a guess, and nothing is stored until the person confirms.

  3. Follow-ups that escalate

An unanswered dose gets a second ask from chintu, then a heads-up to the caretaker. Alerts are switched on per family member, so caretakers are pulled in only when it matters.

  4. Refills from the stock count

Each Taken lowers the strip count. With auto-refill on, chintu asks for approval when stock runs low and sends the order to a local chemist over WhatsApp.

  5. A family on one account

Add as many people as you need. Everyone gets reminders on their own WhatsApp, in their chosen language, and anyone can chat with chintu to log, reschedule or review the week.

  6. Private by default

Medicine names, notes, chats and prescription files are encrypted before storage and decrypted only to send a reminder or show it to you.

Decisions

  1. WhatsApp, not an app

Families already open WhatsApp all day; a new app is one more thing to forget. The price is that every interaction has to fit inside a chat message and a button.

  2. No snooze, no skip

A snooze button turns a reminder into a negotiation. One button keeps the only answer the one that matters.

  3. Ask, then save

Reading a prescription is error-prone, so the parser asks instead of guessing and the person signs off on the schedule. Setup is a little slower, and there are fewer wrong doses.

  4. Caretakers hear silence, not noise

Copying the family on every dose would be spam. The caretaker is told only when a dose goes unanswered, which keeps each alert worth reading.

  5. Not a doctor

chintu can log, reschedule and remind, but never diagnose or change a dose. Urgent questions go to a doctor or emergency services.

Review

“Between meetings and travel, my evening dose was always the first thing I'd forget. Now a WhatsApp message lands at 9 pm, I tap one button, and I'm done.”
